Honor the Warriors 15th Annual
Cycling Event
On October 25th and 26th Honor the Warriors will sponsor our 15th annual event. The Friday ride (25th October) will begin in Eastway Park in Charlotte and roll out at 0900. Our route will take us through NODA and our first stop will be at 1st Ward School for Performing Arts. Here we will meet with the students and spend about 1/2 hour interacting with them. From there we will make our way to Tryon Street for a grand ride down Charlotte's main thoroughfare. We may stop at sights for photo opportunities, Trade and Tryon, the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, or anyplace that interests the team. We will loop around Bank of America Stadium and head towards the NASCAR Hall of Fame and then the Sugar Creek Greenway and on to Freedom Park and lunch. After lunch we will make our way through the Cherry neighborhood and up to The Plaza and finishing up around 1400 back at Eastway Park. The Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Department Motor Unit will escort our team throughout the day, providing safety and guidance. The entire day will be about 16 miles with a slow pace and regroupings as needed. Lunch and refreshments will be provided for all registered riders, so get registered and join us for a great time.
The Saturday ride, Oct 26th, is a fantastic ride beginning at Arlington Baptist Church in Mint Hill. The routes take you across Mecklenburg, Union, Cabarrus, and Anson counties. We have 17, 34, and 68 mile routes so you can select whichever suites your ability. Departure is staggered so we can have riders return at approximately the same time to enjoy lunch. Whichever route you choose, the scenery is breathtaking and some of the most beautiful in this part of the state. Rest stops are set at approximately every 15 miles and will be stocked with drinks, snacks and potties. SAG support will be following each route and will have the ability to supply some emergency pieces and parts or a lift back to the start if needed. Everyone will return to a great NC BBQ lunch, share stories and get to tell lies about who rode the hardest. Join our ride and know you will have a wonderful time and be donating to a great cause.
The cue sheets are posted below. There will be signs posted and every turn should be marked on the roadway. Use the cue sheets to pre-ride anytime and I highly recommend you take one on ride day if you are not thoroughly familiar with the area. There are some areas where your phone will not have service so don't get lost and be safe.

PAST EVENTS
I am as close to speechless as I have ever been. This last 2 weeks has been fantastic for Honor the Warriors. Our 10th annual ride was the most successful ever, and I can not begin to thank our friends, our families, our supporters and especially every rider who came and supported us. The total number of riders was over 120 plus our Warriors. The weather was perfect and the food was exceptional.
