HTW spent a day at each facility introducing Kinesio-therapists and veterans to the joys of recumbent cycling. We were joined by Tom Flohr and his entire fleet of trikes available through Trident Trikes in Lincolnton NC. Tom is one of the most knowledgeable and experience manufacturers in the recumbent cycling world and has supported HTW since our beginning. I can not thank him enough.

This was our 2nd time at this annual ride here in Charlotte. It is amazing how many miles and turns you can put into such a small area. It was really a lot of fun but i propose a name change next year. Tour de Hills would be more appropriate. None of them were long but there were a lot of them. We had one small accident but no permanent damage was done and very little blood was spilled. Beer at the end was a nice touch too. This ride benefitted Loaves and Fishes and will help feed those in need.
Very nice ride in Sanford, NC area. Good cause and we met some nice people. Rode the short ride and enjoyed the finish.
Charlotte Ride Around March 19th
Great day and what a fun ride. Good group riding from Pineville Mall up the various greenways and through town to 1st Ward Park. Lunch and a return to the south via the light rail trail which follows the the tracks fairly closely. I would recommend this ride for anyone who wants to see a lot of Charlotte. There were some detours due to construction but all in all a great time. This is a fun rally full of good folks and some of the most beautiful scenery on the east coast. The facebook page is always up so check it out for more details and dates for next years ride. HTW will be there, we already have reservations. Cycling Savvy, A safety program of the American Bicycle Education Association May 22nd Charlotte, NC8/3/2022 This was a great and at times eye-opening cycling safety class that is being taught nation wide. It is a combination of on line and riding events over a 9 hour period. the focus is on urban cycling and it can give you the confidence to navigate your own city on two or three wheels. Constantly emphasizing safety and awareness it was a lot of fun and I recommend it to anyone who may be hesitant to cycle in an urban environment.
This is one of the events we have attended for years. We meet a load of supporters and have the added advantage of one of the most beautiful parts of the country. It is a 2 day event but we have added a bit extra to make it exciting. Pre-event we added a 20+ mile ride down from the Foothills Parkway and invite anyone to join us. We capped the event with a ride in Cade's Cove without traffic is the highlight but you better get there early to get a parking spot. This should be on every trikers bucket list of rides to do.
Fun ride to help out a pet rescue near Ft Bragg, NC. Met a new couple of riders Dawn and Chris and had a great time in the sandhills. A Great time here. This is part of the Colleton Rice Festival. It is possibly the flattest ride you will find anywhere. 6 HTW riders showed up and Paul and I represented the tail end of the 62 mile route along with an upright couple who stayed with us until the end. |
